1. Edward Tracey .

Edward married Judith Tynan on 13 Oct 1815 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

Children from this marriage were:

+ 2    i. John Tracey was born about 1817 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland, was christened on 16 Feb 1817 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland, died on 11 Nov 1883 in 150 28th St. Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, about age 66, and was buried on 12 Nov 1883 in Holly Cross Cemetery Brooklyn, New York (Vernon Square Sect. Range E #147) - no gravestone.

   3    ii. James Tracey was christened on 19 Dec 1819 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

   4    iii. Catherine Tracey was christened on 20 Sep 1821 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland and died after 1893.

General Notes: Catherine also lived in Charlottesville and Richmond VA.

Catherine married Casey.

   5    iv. Daniel Tracey was christened on 1 Aug 1824 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

   6    v. Martin Tracey was christened on 11 Nov 1828 in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland and died on 13 Jul 1893 in Charlottsville, Virginia, USA, at age 64.

General Notes: Martin worked for the University of Virginia during the Civil War. According to University of Virginia May 1921 Alumni News Letter:

" .... the war-time janitor, Martin Tracy, must not be forgotten, a list of whose duties during those tumultuous years proves him to have been the most versatile, practical and handy man about the University .."

Martin was also a major contributor to the Church of the Paraclete, the first Catholic Church in Charlottesville. The Church of the Paraclete, was erected in 1880 on the corner of Jefferson Street and School Street (now 3rd Street, Northeast). The principal contributor was Martin Tracy who donated a 75-acre farm to the church. The parcel sold for $1,300 and provided the funding necessary to build the church. The cornerstone was laid on July 25,1880, by the Most Reverend John J. Keane, Bishop of Richmond.

Martin married Jane O'Toole on 8 Jan 1875 in Albemarle Co. Virginia, USA. Jane died in 1892.
